UGG BOOTS while pumping gas got COVERED with fuel How do I get the smell out and Clean them?

#I was pumping gas at the gas pump and gas started squirting all over the place. Covered my BRAND new not even 2 wk old UGG Boots. Unsure how I can get the smell if at all possible out of the leather and inside wool it seeped into the wool. . . HELP!! : ( Also unsure if you can wash the boots in the washing machine?

Not sure but they sound ruined anyway so whats to lose by putting them through the washing machine? Might be worth contacting the manufacturer for help on cleaning products you can use or taking them to a good dry cleaners for advice

try getting a news paper and ball up the pages one at a time and stuff them in your boots as tight as you can get them – the paper will draw the liquid in – also put the boots outside – gas is a volatile and that will help the vapors to dissipate – not to mention the vapors are not good to breath – you may need the change the paper a few times

DON’T PUT THEM IN THE WASHER. That gasoline might cause problems with the mechanics of the machine. Why take the chance? I like the idea of stuffing with paper and putting outside.
